It's been a busy start to the year here at A+R Fabrics!

We've welcomed the JUKI brand of sewing machines to our virtual shelves.  The first delivery of our small, but considered range arrived this week including the DX5, the DX7 and the MCS-1500N coverstich.  The MO-1000 overlocker is due in early March.  

We do have plans to extend this range, but I really wanted time to familiarise myself with the machines I've not used before, before we add anymore.  It's important to me that I am fully equipped with as much knowledge on these 'new to me' machines so that I can answer all of your questions honestly, based on real sewing experience.

When doing my own research on the DX5 which I purchased for personal use, I found most of the dealers were very knowledgeable on the quilting abilities of the sewing mahcines, but didn't really have the garment specific knowledge I was looking for.  This range is brilliant for garment sewing and I want to be able to offer you all of those details so you can arm yourself with as much knowledge as you can before making a decision.

Early in the year we received the first of our check and textured linens, you can see the three classic designs we started with here.  We are testing a couple of Winter colourways in checks at the moment and hope to have them available come May 2021 along with some 260gsm linen basics and even a few viscose / linens in some Winter shades too! 

Some of our vibrant bold linen shades are running low so if you've had your eye on the Emerald, Magenta or Cobalt please grab your selected length soon.  We won't be restocking these colours until mid-year.

We've added some additional Australian made jersey's to our growing knit collection. 

Firstly, our TENCEL® Modal jersey which is a 180gsm jersey containing 5% elastane for great stretch and recovery.  The drape, softness and hand feel of this jersey are wonderful and I'm looking forward to adding a few foundation garments to my wardrobe for the coming season.  It has great opacity, so if you're considering it for underwear I would highly suggest it! 

Next is our 100% organic cotton jersey.  If you're making Men's t shirts, boxy fit t shirts, etc. this 180gsm could be the perfect jersey for your next project.  

February also saw the first release of A+R Denims.  We have 2 options available in this first drop, one rigid and one stretch.  Both 10oz so suitable for a large number of projects.

As mentioned above, a new range of heavier weight linens are in production, and we have a couple of new ikat designs winging there way to us!  We'll notify you of these release through the newsletter which you're welcome to sign up for at the bottom of our website home page.
